If what you did allowed your system to act, feel and look like it did before
you installed the new drive then all is good to go.

Everybody has their own way of getting the end result. There are shortcuts
and some of us have different procedures for getting the same results as
you. This doesn't mean you did anything wrong however. <Smile> 

It sounds like you may be new to computers and you are to be commended for
going where, "No man has gone before." Well not exactly but I think if the
end result has allowed your system to function as before you have done a
