Installed Win98 at friend's, after the install
done window pops out : new hardware found, called
"PCI Serial Controller". The drivers are not present
anywhere - looked at C:\, at W98 CD-ROM, at disks
supplied with computer - no luck. Probably as
the result of this thing missing, PCI modem disappeared
from anywhere and doesn't respond even to AT.

  Help!

The system : P166, on generic PCI/ISA MB, 48M Ram,
1.6+8.4 IDE HD, 16x generic IDE CDROM, ES1688 sound,
DynaMode PCI internal modem.
The error didn't show under Win95. I compared his
Windows98 CD-ROM with mine and they're identical.
