Hi again,

I went through all the procedures to install ras and the adapter.

It seems that the problem is more to do with the Xircom card being
recognised by NT and the HP Omnibook.
I removed and re-installed the modem but after running the Xircom
Diagnostic app, its reports that no modem is found, this is pretty
confusing.

The card is a Ethernet + modem card and it works fine on the network.
