It sounds like you have a startup problem. One of your drivers is not
loading properly. This would cause you not to be able to shutdown properly.
I do not use Windows 2000, I use Windows 98 but I think I have found you a
link that may help in Microsoft's Information data base. I hope this helps.
I used the shutdown problem guide for Windows98 and it fixed my
problem.Other people have posted information about your BIOS and Power Saver
options, sounds like good advice to me.
