I have it on reliable information that SP2 contains all of the updates in SP1, so you only need to do SP2. If you already have SP1 installed, don't worry, SP2 will install those updates over the top of SP1. If you are of a mind to wait on SP2, do SP1 and make sure you have a good firewall, malware hunter, and updated Anti-virus. The pop-up blocker in SP2 for IE can be taken care of by installing Avant Browser over the top of IE, or by downloading a free one (check google for pop-up blockers). That and using a lot of common sense about what to download, what sites to avoid, and what e-mails to ignore will go a long way. Judiciousness and common sense will do more to protect you from the wastes of skin who author virii, and who hack your computer, than all the software in the world.
