LCD is the general name for the type of screen, TFT is a type of LCD.  Most
new ones sold as monitors are TFT LCDs anyway, but there is another method
of doing an LCD called passive mode or dual-scan passive, which has a
slower refresh rate, and for a monitor, you would want a TFT LCD.  If it
just says LCD, then it's missing something.
