The second laptop should automatically pick up the wireless signal
regardless of whether you use a PCMCIA card or get another integrated
wireless laptop. If speed is important, you might want to consider 802.11g
(Or whatever the latest and fastest is). If you don't want to replace the
access point now, you can always get a faster one later.
Printing can be done by just plugging the printer into the most convenient
laptop.
If you enable network printing, you'll be able tp print from either laptop
regardless of which is physically connected to the printer.
If you're using XP, wirelss networking is pretty well covered in the help
file.

I want the 2nd laptop to also
be wirelessly connected to the cable modem via the router, because I want
to do away with my computer desk. Can I do this? If so what do I need in
the 2nd laptop? Can I buy an 802.11 wireless card and use it in one of the
pcmcia slots?. Do I just put it in and it automatically picks up the
router signal? Is it that easy? Also if I do that, how do I print?
