I don't see how you could do this because the two plugs should be
completely different. But perhaps there was enough voltage transfered to
the port to zap the board. If you have damaged your laptop you won't be
able to find parts to repair it . And even if you could it wouldn't be
worth it You can buy a good working 486 class Laptop on Ebay for anywhere
from $35  to $100 and  Pentium class for $150 on up.
