Mark, Larry, and everyone else who responded to this, my A drive now works.
I took it out and brought it to a neighbor's house. His A drive worked
fine. I put mine in with my cable and it didn't work. I took out my cable
and used his and it did work. Talk about bad luck, I had bought a brand new
defective cable the other day. I took it back to CompUSA and got another
one. I put the whole shebang back in and it worked perfectly. How often
could that happen? Who would ever expect that a brand new cable would be
defective. So it wasn't anything esoteric, just a defective cable. Much
thanks to everyone who responded to this. Never be sure of even the simple
things. Joel
