Chris,
You are correct.  Although you can install more than 512MB RAM to a system
and BIOS may recognize it, however, this is Win98S/E's limitation.  From an
evaluation I've read (I know I saved that article somewhere in my HD-Tom's
Hardware) 512MB is Win98S/E's effective max limit.  Beyond that limit,
although M$ never confirmed it, the operating system will be bound to
produce errors.  Uncle Bill, you there?
