I have noticed that the system is now reading the processor correctly. I got it the FSB in bios to 133. All reads good to me until it freezes. Since my original posting, I removed and reseated the cpu, still no change. My thought at this point also lean toward the m/b and cpu, but I can't test them. I really don't want to rip MY pc apart to test them ( I have the same m/b with the Athlon XP 1900). If you can come up with anything else I would really appreciate it.    Al
