IMHO, they are "too inexpensive" to get fixed,
unless you have a friend that can look at it...

If you are handy, you could look in the door and then (if necessary)
take the top cover off if there is some obvious trash in there...

Other than clearing out obvious trash, there is little else  "most"
users can do... (of any technical skill level.)

I get used floppy drives from a business friend for as little as $3US,
so look and/or ask around places that tend to generate "used"
or surplus parts... I have taken old floppy drives out as far back
as 386s, and they are still using the same standards... The size
has changed once in that time... (I am not counting the 8 in ones...)
I pay $7 - $15US for "first class" new ones...
(About 1/4 of the time I order things, I add in a floppy drive or two
since the modern ones seem to be notoriously failure prone.
(Or more delicate than in the "old days"...)
