I am presuming that it's a 486 if you are considering a VESA card.
You also didn't mention if you have a VESA slot on your board....if
you don't then you certainly aren't going to be able to make use of
the card<g>
How much video memory does your current card have?
If you have the VESA slot and your current card does not have any
more than 1 meg of memory I'd do it just to compare the performance.
You're only talking 15 minutes of your time (if you have the right
drivers)....

Yes, the computer is a 486 (AMD DX4-100MHz) and there are two VESA
slots, (one is currently occupied by the hard drive controller card)
My current video card has 1 Megabyte of RAM (I think) and I do beleive
the VESA video card also has 1 Megabyte.
