The number one thing to check is if the modem is on the NT hardware
compatibility list.  If it isn't then Microsoft won't help you at all if you
have problems with it.   (Like I'd count on Microsoft to help me solve anything
with their software)  This will also let you  know if your modem selection  has
been  tested and works with NT.

Something else to think about,
