Follow the manufacturer's specs on it, and stick to 384 Mb. Besides, Win 9x has a problem with RAM over 512.  Usually when I buy a mobo, I check to see what it supports beforehand, and I save the user guides.

My motherboard has three memory slots or banks. I then went to the motherboard's manufactor's site and discovered the same thing only that each memory bank or slot only supports 128Mbit modules or lesser ones which means that I can only install three 128MB memory modules that add up to 384MB, half of the maximum amount. My question is, can I install three 256MB modules to get the maximum of 768MB of ram or can I only install 128MB modules or less. I could install a doublesided 256MB module. That will count as 128Mbit, but a doublesided module also takes up two banks making room for only one more 128Mbit module which still does not yield the maximum
>capacity I was hoping to upgrade to. I know that if I install more that each bank's supported capactiy, the memory will not work. Also how else do I find out how much memory can be installed in my computer. What kind of programs do you all use to determine the capacity and supported modules. Please give your honest answer, I will greatly appreciate all the help I can get on this situation.
