Let me clarify this message:  this unit does not work off the charger/adaptor with the battery in or out.  As far as I remember, it never worked w/o the battery in, even when running off the adaptor when the battery was low.  Now it will light one light with the adaptor and battery both in, but no light at all with battery out.  The laptop itself does not come on in any case.  I was told by one tech that the unit should work with the adaptor???  regardless of battery condition.  Any help appreciated.
