On my systems with XP and Windows 2k, the USB drive is automatically
recognized when it is plugged in. The first time I plugged it in, I had to
use disk manager to assign the desired drive letter to the device. After
that it works like any other drive and can be used that way. The only caveat
is that you need to click on an icon in the system tray to disable the USB
device before unplugging it - otherwise you get a dire warning message
saying some files may not have been written to the drive.
