DDR ram is a specific type of SDRAM. Other types are DDR2 and DDR3, for example.

If you go to Wikipedia and do a search on "DDR SDRAM" they give a more complete explanation.

If you are purchasing it online from an auction, you definitely want it to be DDR no matter where it is listed on that site.

Subject: [PCBUILD] DDR and SDRAM memory the same thing?

Up-grading RAM. Dell web site shows MB wil take 2GB PC3200 (400MHz) of DDR SDRAM. Some auction sites list DDR and SDRAM in separate
categories. Are they the same memory?
