Greetings,
I've read with great interest the problems and lack of problems with WinXP
SP2 on this list. I had decided to not install SP2 until the problems get
worked out. Unfortunately, one of my clients did the update on one of his
comps. Now it doesn't recognize the network/workgroup at all.

Here's the stats: 3 comps running XP Pro networked together via hub and
router to dsl. In the past, all could see/share files, printers and use
internet. Comp 3 was updated to SP2. Comps 1 and 2 see Comp 3 but Comp 3 doesn't
see Comps 1 & 2. Comp 3 does have internet access. I ran the network setup
wizard on Comp3, ran the netsetup disk from Comp3 on other two, double checked
workgroup name/syntax, made sure firewall on Comp3 was disabled, ran adaware
last week and removed about 100 malware files (worked fine then), updated
virus and ran full scan with neg results. Uninstalled SP2 now Comp3 is very
slow and has spoolsrv errors and doesn't recognize the network. As a matter of
fact, I added a new user with admin rights and network connection isn't even
there. Although under a different admin user network connection option
appears on the start menu even though it doesn't see any other comps.

Sorry for the length. I'm pretty close to being stumped on this one. Any
suggestions?

TIA,
Kevin Nowicki
