Thanks to all of you who responded to me. I noted in one of the references, it said that re-using a cartridge until it was really dry and after the indicator said it was exhausted caused the conductors in the print head to lose the cooling effect of the ink.  This may also be my problem.  I will use what I learned and hope I can salvage 2 printers.
