Hi, I only just posted my question today, but I've solved it, not sure how,
but it's working now.
I disabled the sound drivers, rebooted, and then enabled them and for some
reason it worked!
I'm not going to question it, but it happened, so thanks anyway to anyone
who would have helped.
I still have a driver in there called 'disabled device', but I'm leaving
well alone, it works, that's the main thing.

In answer to Gary's question which was very similar to my own, my daughter's
pc suddenly didn't have sound some time ago, and I just refreshed the sound
drivers in the device manager. (this was Me)
It's been fine ever since. This may be your problem Gary.
Have you tried that?
Have you tried deleting the drivers and resarting the system? They should
install again on start up.

HTH
