My daughter-in-law has file damage on her lap top from Sasser and Blaster viruses. I couldn't use her restore disk because she couldn't find it. All I have myself is the old Windows ME. So I thought I could format the hard drive and put ME on it. I had the drivers downloaded that I thought I would need. But I decided to ask if it was going to cause problems.

Then a friend took the serial and model numbers and was able to order a restore disk from the manufacturer (which I should have thought of!). After all I have read here I'm sure it was not a good idea to begin with.

Thanks for the information!
