I can't clean install Windows Me or 98se,
and hope you may have some suggestions.

I have had this happen on a brand new machine that required a bios flash
update. Check with your board manufacturer for a bios flash. You may also
try disabling your external cache in the bios which may allow it to install
although this is only a band-aid to get it to install. I have successfully
been able to install by doing this. If the bios auto selects the processor
speed check to make sure this is correct. Good luck. Let me know how you
make out.
