Make sure you are using CD-R discs only. Almost all cd players will not read CD-RW. Also, are you closing the disc after you copy the songs to it? I use Adaptec also for Audio discs and it had the option to leave the session and disc open so that you may write more to it at a later time. To play the music, the disc needs to be closed.
