I have a pentium MoBo (ECS - HX chipset) with the usual built in
paralell port. It stopped working suddenly. MSD recognises LPT1 but
claims that the port is offline and busy. MSD printer test returns a
response "file corrupted or printer offline".

My text editor says printer offline if I try to print a file.

However when I cold boot the system the print head moves and makes
noises as if everything is ok.

How can I findout what is wrong with the port? Until a couple of days
ago, I had EZ-135 drive attached to that port and it worked fine. When I
could not acces that drive, I attached a printer to see ifthe port is
working.

Thanks for your help.
