Since the XP boot loader files are on the original C: drive, to avoid bootup
problems after you switch drives you should boot with the original XP CD and
watch carefully when it asks if you want to repair your installation and
choose this option. If you can buy a copy (maybe the demo works?) of
PowerQuest DriveMapper or similiar software to correct your drive letter
changes in your registry, all your programs will function as normal.
Depending on the speed of your system, give yourself at least 3 hours to get
everything right and donīt forget to reinstall all software patches and
updates to your XP installation. I do not think the product activation
issue will come up but be prepared.

Subject: Going back to one OS

I didn't get any responses on my first post so I'm asking again.
I now have XP & 98 on 2 drives. 98 is on C: Master Drive, XP on D: Slave
Drive. If I uninstall 98, change jumpers & make D: Master with XP (the only
OS), XP will then be on C: What problems will I have with everything that
used to be D: is now going to be C: Right now everything is on D: & I don't
want to mess that up. Any thoughts or the proper procedure on this would
really help.

Thanks.......Jim
