Hi Regina,

What type of DVD does it fail to recognize, a commercial disc or a
recordable disc, blank or burned? Is it possible it is not a DVD/CD-RW and
only a CD-RW drive? Was the drive factory installed or did you install it?
What is the drive make and model number? Which Nero program and version do
you use? Do you have DVD player software such as Cyberlink's PowerDVD or
WinDVD installed? This information would be helpful in attempting to
diagnose your problem.

Subject: [PCBUILD] Drive will not see disk

Hi,

I'm not sure if I'm having a hardware or software problem so if this is the
wrong list please forgive me. I have a DVD/CD-RW drive. When I put in a
music disk it plays fine. If I burn a disk it does fine. But when I put a
DVD in to play it nothing happens. I checked the drive in my computer and
it does not show that there is a disk in there. If I go ahead and start
Nero it also does not see a disk. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a
software or a hardware problem going on? Ideas?
