how long can one expect surge control devices to last? the ones in question
are your basic, beige, six prong devices from Tripplite circa 1998. they've
seen heavy duty in a school computer lab - so at least 180 days p. year in a
district that tends to have at least 2 or 3 power outages annually. and is
there anyway to tell if a surge device has 'gone bad?'

the reason i'm asking is that we are replacing our old P166's in this lab
and i want to make sure they are protected. thanks,
