I know that there are utilities that will switch your settings - designed
specifically for your situation. However, I can't give you any leads on them
since I never used any. Perhaps another lister will point us to the exact
program.

Another way around it is to use a CMD window and execute the NET USE command
to mount a shared resource. This assumes that your laptop and home computer
are on the same IP network (address range). If they both use DHCP, you
should have no trouble. Just find out what the IP address of the sharing
machine is and type in something like this: NET USE J:
\\192.168.0.27\MyShares
This assumes that the IP address is that of the computer that has a shared
resource named "MyShares" on it. That share will appear as drive J: on you
laptop. To end the access, type "NET USE J: /d" - this will disconnect you
from the other computer.
