ps2 connector for mouse

My daughter's computer is an older Pentium 120 that does not have a PS/2
style connector for the mouse. Is there any simple way to add a PS/2
Microsoft wheel mouse to this computer? I tried a PS/2 to serial adaptor
that works with some mouses (mice?), but it does not work with the Microsoft
mouse.
