CDROM not recognize

I am having the problem of a unrecognizable CDROM after adding a 4x CD-RW
using DirectCd 1.01 .

Before the upgrade my system can see a 10x Acer CDROM and use it without
problem .

After adding the CDRW , upon boot up bios still detects the CDROM but it
does not appear under device manger anymore .

Please note that the CDR is connected using a 2940 scsi card and the Acer
CDROM connected to the motherboard Sec HD connector .

The system configuration is  a P2-233 with ASUS P2...LX mb and 64mb of
SDRAm

Any help or pointers is very much appreciated .
