I did a dumb thing tonight I was working on a Packerd Bell, and found a
utility at there web site for fixing ide conficts, but in looking at the disk
ran a file called clear cmos it did just that. I thought it was a readme file.
The packerd bell comes up no operating system. It also gives me know bios
to enter. Will not even light the floppy did that program kill the bios chip
is there a way to get it back, or order a new one. Did the same thing on my
computer, but it lets me in the bios so as you see I am running. I do have one
problem though. When booting it says CPU is unworkable, or has been changed
please recheck CPU soft menu. Do not know what CPU soft menu is. Award Modular
BIOS V4.51 PC , Green PCI/ISA Pentium ODP-MMX CPU at 180 Mhz. Award Plug
& Play BOIS extension v1.08. Thought this computer was running at 200Mhz
this happened. Sorry for being so dumb. Thank You in advance
