I am running Windows 98 SE.

My modem is a 56 kifxspA  internal

I have gone to the website and it has been discontinued and I cannot find any update on drivers.  I did an upgrade to XP and the modem was not compatible and could not work.  So I did the uninstall of XP and my computer crashed.  I had to use the boot disk to get it up and running and then clean install everything.  Spent two days because I got it up once but it crashed again.  And this message keeps coming up.  I uninstalled the
modem as it was listed twice in my Device Mgr with a conflict.

Thank you for your help.  Do you have any other ideas besides the obvious of going and buying a new modem?  LOL    tannis zamora

On restart Windows will find it and ask for the drivers.  You shouldn't have a conflict after you install it without having more than one instance of it.  The mfc42.dll is on your Windows CD, and can be retrieved using system file checker in Win 98 and later.
