The only "good" way is to erase the entire drive and re-install
the OS from scratch...

That might not be easy for you, depending on the drivers you need
to get it running again.
If you "go that route", be sure to ask how to do it for the type
of OS media you have and the type of computer. (Dell, HP,
small OEM, home built, etc...)
