I have a problem with using the Promise Ultra66 adapter in my system.
The system recognizes it and loads the software for it. It even sees my
disk drive on bootup. It
says:
Ultra66 Bios version 1.12 (Build 0518)
(c) 1998 - 1999 Promise Technology, Inc.
D0 WDC WD205BA LBA 19574MB Ultra DMA4
D1
D2
D3
it starts to load windows and then gives me a "window protection error.
You need
to restart your computer." I restarted it and got a bootlog.txt part of
which says:
LoadStart = C:\WINDOWS\fonts\MODERN.FON
LoadSuccess = C:\WINDOWS\fonts\MODERN.FON
LoadSuccess = USER.EXE
LoadStart = MSGSRV32.EXE
LoadSuccess = MSGSRV32.EXE
Init = Final USER
InitDone = Final USER
Init = Installable Drivers
InitDone = Installable Drivers
Init = TSRQuery
InitDone = TSRQuery
It then locks up. Any ideas. I have the disk partitioned using
Partition Magic. Any help would be appreciated. I really would like to
use this drive.
TIA,
Frank
