Very basic (i.e., dumb) question. I am contemplating a new system and would
be no doubt getting a vastly superior hared drive than I have now (say a 250
GB SATA drive, for example). Will I still be able to use one of my older
EIDE (Western Digital Caviar 100 GB drive, for example) in the same system?
I know that the cables etc are quite different, but do new motherboards and
BIOS's etc allow for both types of drives to be used in one system? If so,
is there any penalty in performance on my main new drive by having an
older-technology drive in the system?

Thanks.

Michael
