Why do you want to format the C: drive?

If you want to cleanly install XP, you do that as follows:
1. Boot the XP CD
2. Proceed as for doing a normal install of XP.
3. When you reach the screen to select the partition on which XP is to be
installed, select the C: drive partition.
4. You will be given an option to format or leave as-is.

Carl

Subject: [PCBUILD] Unable to formatt C Drive

HI:
Unable to formatt C drive. My OS is Windows xp pro. The drive is two years
old.
I do not have a floppy drive so this is not an option. I have tried going to
my
computer, Right click C drive and selected formatt windows says unable to
complete formatting. I also tried start, run, formatt and this does not
work.
