I have recently purchased a Hercules Prophet 4500 64MB  graphics card to
replace my ATI Rage 2c 8MB card.  The installation under win 98 went fine
and the system says it is working properly and there are no conflicts.
However, I have a number of applications and games (3D intensive ones) that
lock the system a couple of seconds after trying to initialise them.  To my
dismay I noticed that the card requires a motherboard with an AGP slot of
specification V2.0 compliance and to the best of my knowledge, mine is only
V1.0 compliant.  Short of having to change the motherboard completely I'd
like to know if this 'specification' can be upgraded somehow.

My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-5AX Aladdin 5 running an AMD K6-2 500mhz.
