Do you have MS Office installed per chance? If so, it may be FastFind that
is running in the background. Other background utilities such as AltaVista
personal indexer do this also. It is likely a software issue.

I have a HP6470Z Pavilion.  I have noticed my computer getting very slow
lately.  When I check the Norton system I installed it says that my cpu
usage is at 99 to 100% when I don't have anything running that I know
of.  What could be causing the usage to be so high?
