My job requires imaging Dell Optiplexes (GX1) with PII and PIII CPUs. I have run into a problem being able to changing settings in the bios to allow Windows XP or Win 2000 images to boot (turning on ACPI). I was finally able to reset the Bios (and allowing me to make changes in the Bios) by removing the battery for an hour, but on each machine it does not recognize the CD ROM anymore. I thought that putting in a hard drive with the image loaded might help the Bios recognize the CD ROM, but it did not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
