  I suspect that this kind of issue may be quite common.  I have two
netbooks, one frome Acer and one from Gateway, and the Acer took an
upgrade from 1GB to 2GB with no problem, but I got the specific 2GB
SO-DIMM that Crucial recommended for the Gateway model, and it still
stubbornly recognizs only 1GB....
