Bryan:

DDO is the Ontrack Dynamic Disk Overlay. It is partitioning software. So,
unless you re-partition or remove the DDO with Ontrack, or do a low-level
format, you aren't going to get rid of it. You didn't IDENTIFY the hard drive
so the best solution isn't apparent. You must use specialized software either
from the drive maker or 3rd parties to do a low-level format of an IDE drive.
The embedded drive commands to invoke low-level formatting differ from
drive to drive. Do NOT use the formatter in CMOS.

You must run Ontrack again to REMOVE its partitioning information. There's
an option on the main menu to do this. Instead of using a 800MB drive as a
504MB drive, you might try the latest version of Ontrack to see if this will
solve your Win95 incompatibility problem. Download it from your drive maker's
website.
