I had an experience with that myself. I still have an old Dell 486
that is VERY slot sensitive. The symptoms were/are ABSOLUTELY
repeatable. Dell did their best, (for that and some other problems),
by coming and replacing the motherboard FIVE times.
They also changed everything else in the computer at least once,
over time, except the floppy drive. I can't say they made much $
on this computer, and I still get a subtle keyboard controller error
every
once in a while. (This is what turned me into a builder. It is quicker
than getting someone else to fix it...)
