I use 2 32 meg 60 ns EDO 72 pin simms with AMD k6-2 350 mhz cpus on
a couple of 100 mhz boards. The setting for sdram is ignored because
the sdram sockets are empty, which is a good idea if you want to use
edo. There has been a lot of posts about the voltage difference
between edo and sdram and how that will effect configurations that
are using both types. I avoid that issue by not mixing memory types.

On all the different boards I use there is nothing to set, the board
detects the use of edo and adjusts accordingly. I still have 4 spare
edo simms so I will probably do this again, although I realize it is
hurting performance.

A student of mine has been told that if he wants to put an AMD K6-2/350 on
a FIC VA-503+ MB, he can't use his old EDO memory because of the 100MHz
front side bus.

Is this true? I had never heard of such, and know that there are jumpers
for setting SDRAM speed lower when using higher front side bus settings. I
can find no documentation regarding high processor speeds and SIMMs.
