For less than $10.00,  consider a 5ft. USB to Parallel Printer IEEE 1284
or for less than $30.00, a new color inkjet printer from several mfgs.

Hi;

In anticipation of receiving a new laptop for Christmas, I am trying to
convert my Canon bubble jet printer BJC-600 from a parallel port to parallel
port cable to a cable that goes from parallel port to USB port. I am
currently running XP Home with SP2.

When MS 'plug and play' searches for the 'new' printer it finds
a 'CH340'
and says it needs CH341PT.dll which the computer cannot locate in any of my
files.

Where do I find this program?

Is it worth while to pursue this with a 10+ year old printer that still
works very well in XP?

Many thanks for any help.
