Try this site;
http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/identify.htm
Your board is identified by the bios number that comes
on the screen at boot up, or you can enter setup and see the board number.
I believe you can hit the pause/break key to "freeze" the bios screen.
You may have to press shift+pause/break, can't remember.
the Se440Bx should have B0X1 in the number
The Se440Bx-2 should have B2X0 in the number.
If I remember right on the boards with onboard sound,
the BX-2 board has onboard Yamaha sound
as opposed to Crystal sound on the BX

Subject: [PCBUILD] motherboard identity

Good day list,

I am working on a machine that has an Intel "slot one" motherboard, and
there are no specific identifying features anywhere on the board. (bios
upgrade is what I have in mind) Recently I visited the Intel website and
found a utility that was able to determine the exact board by using the BIOS
string. With outside distractions, I failed to save the web page into my
favorites list, and now I can no longer seem to locate that page. During
POST, the bois string is not displayed long enough to copy it down.

I have the board narrowed down to these two, but can't be sure:
     Intel SE440BX
     Intel SE440BX-2
The bios upgrades are different for each board, so getting the exact upgrade
is what I have in mind instead of ending up with a rather large paper
weight!
