I started experiencing a very sore right forearm and elbow.  I thought
from arm extension of the mouse arm!  I got a MS Intellimouse
Trackball and love it.  It rests in my lap while I work.  It comes
with about a 6 foot cord, and I am sure you could get an extension.
There is another that 'feels good' in your hand with the red ball.
Your palm gets sour with the MS one.
