The PC i am putting together is SOYO k7TA-B Socket A Motherboard with 800 Mhz duron Processor, 20 Gig Western /digital Protege Harddrive,128sdram pc 100

The problem is that when i try to install Win Me i get error at 10% of installation SU0235, in microsoft database this means that the cd rom itself must be damaged dirty or scratched. Or the Cdrom drive itself maybe defective.
i have tried different  drives also have tried a new one also and everytime the installation stops at 10 %.

So i reformatted the drive using western digital setup disk, and tried windows 98 this installs all the way but when i try to access anything in win 98 errors come up,and protection errors . And asked to shut down. i have replaced the cables i have ran diagnostic on the hardrive(works fine) and still can't figure this out. Could it be the motherboard? Help would be appreciated.
