Just another possibility.........
I wonder if something within your system is not compatible. Did you run the
compatibility test?

Not familiar with that MB.
Quick questions...  (Might help others give answers...)
Have you used NTFS with XP so it might be able to record
things as they happen before and just as it crashes?
What does your event log say about all this?
Does it mention any ACPI  errors?

Have you turned off ALL power management in the BIOS and XP?
