My understanding is that if you attempt to revert to the FAT 16 system, then
any data held with FAT32 will be lost.
You might want to make sure that you have a complete backup of your system
prior to any experimentation in this regard...

Is your entire HD converted or just one or two of the partitions?  If not
all, then you may be in luck.  Backup the data onto some form of removable
media, then remove the FAT32, re-format that drive, and then copy the saved
info back.  At least that is what my tech says should work for you.
